OTOC leaders asked specific, issue oriented questions to both Rep. Ashford and Candidate Don Bacon at the non-partisan Accountability Session

In October, at the OTOC Accountability Session, Congressional candidate Don Bacon pledged to meet with OTOC’s Environmental Sustainability Team and to join the bi-partisan Climate Solutions Caucus, should he win the seat for Nebraska’s  2nd Congressional district. This unique caucus requires that a Republican and Democrat join at the same time so there equal numbers from each party at all times. Rep Bacon is the first member of Congress from either party from the Midwest to join the Climate Solutions Caucus.

After winning the seat this past November, Rep. Bacon announced Thursday, February 9, 2017 that he has joined the bi-partisan Climate Solutions Caucus. As a member of this caucus he stated that he intends to “further expand my knowledge on the potential impacts of climate change and find bi-partisan solutions”

350 OTOC leaders and friends attended the Accountability Session at St. Leo the Great

OTOC is proud that Rep. Bacon has taken these first steps to creating a more sustainable environment. Rep Bacon is proud too, he further stated, “I am proud to be joining the Climate Solutions Caucus…This was a promise I made to constituents of my district and I keep my promises.”

Clearly Rep. Bacon  has expressed a willingness to work across the aisle to develop effective solutions to the reality of climate change. We encourage you to share your appreciate with the Rep. Bacon,  either by phone, email or letter. The necessary contact information is included below.
