Omaha Together One Community, Institute for Public Leadership (IPL) and 9 refugee communities invite you to attend the Third Annual Refugee Cultural Night, a celebration of music, song, dance and snacks from the diverse refugee communities of Omaha.

Saturday, November 15th

5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

At First United Methodist Church  (7020 Cass)

     Program                   

5:30 p.m—light snacks and opportunity to talk with the performers

6:00 p.m—8:00  p.m.—Dance, Song and culture from African and Asian refugees living in Omaha. Performing groups are from South Sudan, Darfur, Burundi, Bhutan and several areas of Burma (Myanmar)

Followed by light refreshments and conversation among us all

Donation:  Tickets are available for a $10 donation or $20 for a family (up to four).  All proceeds will benefit the refugee groups, supporting their ongoing work to share their culture.

Tuesday, November 18

OTOC and Institute of Public Leadership are collaborating with Inclusive Communities and other allies to organize a “Table Talk”  on Tuesday, November 18 at 6:00 pm at UNO Center for Community Engagement (6001 Dodge Street).

This will be a lively gathering where new immigrants and refugees and long time Omaha residents can share their stories and learn more about why they have made Omaha their home and why we all stay and make this our home.

Free parking is available in Lot E, in front of the UNO Bell Tower.
