OTOC's Metro Area Development Committee (MAD) Timeline
of Activities Committee
Mission - Promote smart growth in the Omaha Metro area that is equitable to
all elements of our community through research, education, and action ·
July 24,
2001 - Committees first meeting at St. Pius with about 10 people present.
Committee formed in response to concerns about urban sprawl and traffic issues
from house meetings earlier that year. Michele Jarzynka and Marie Belognia were
co-chairs. Meetings held monthly, usually at St. Pius. Launched first research
action review the Omaha Master Plan adopted in January 1997. ·
